The people of Mayezane village, and the neighboring villages have to walk a minimum of 12km to the nearest clinic, and 24km to the nearest hospital to access health care. This is a great challenge to the elderly, very ill, pregnant women, or young children. Building a well supplied clinic for this community will alleviate that problem and bring health care closer to their homes. HFM has been using school buildings as a venue to bring healthcare closer to the people of Mayezane village. Permanent access to healthcare in a clinic, will reduce the incidents of preventable diseases, provide emergency care, and thus improve the villagers’ quality of life. Healthy villagers can work in their fields and homesteads to sustain their families. A healthy community is a productive community.
